Godstone is a village and civil parish in the Tandridge district of Surrey, made up of two historic centres, Church Town and Godstone Green, linked across a parish of around 1,806 hectares. Its name is recorded from at least 1248. St Nicholas Church, which dominates Church Town, includes a memorial chapel of 1787 containing the tombs of Sir John and Lady Evelyn.
