About Keston
Keston is a village in the London Borough of Bromley, part of Kent until 1965. Evidence of habitation in the area dates back to around 3000 BC, with later Roman villa remains and medieval structures also found nearby. The village is associated with William Wilberforce and William Pitt the Younger, who are said to have discussed the abolition of slavery near an oak tree overlooking the vale of Keston, and it retains a working post mill, Keston Windmill, built in 1716.
