Leigh-on-Sea is a coastal town on the northern side of the Thames Estuary, within the unitary authority of Southend-on-Sea in the ceremonial county of Essex. It has a fishing heritage stretching back nearly a thousand years, centred on the historic Old Leigh waterfront, and today also has a nature reserve at Two Tree Island and a beach near Bell Wharf.
