About Steyning
Steyning is a town in the Horsham district of West Sussex, at the north end of the River Adur gap in the South Downs, four miles north of Shoreham-by-Sea.
The population was 5,832 at the 2001 census. The railway closed in 1966 and the former line is now the Downs Link path; the nearest station is Shoreham-by-Sea. Landmarks include the Church of St Andrew and St Cuthman, of Anglo-Saxon origin, and the Old Town Hall of 1886.
