About Currie
Currie is a village and suburb of Edinburgh, seven miles south-west of the city centre, between Juniper Green and Balerno. It falls under the City of Edinburgh Council, and the A70 runs through it.
The population was 7,494 at the 2011 census. Curriehill railway station is on the Glasgow to Edinburgh via Shotts line. Currie Parish Church was built in 1784, and the war memorial was designed by Sir Robert Lorimer in 1921.
