About Eckington
Eckington is a town in the North East Derbyshire district, 7 miles north-east of Chesterfield and 9 miles south-east of Sheffield, on the border with South Yorkshire. It lies close to junction 30 of the M1.
The population was 11,855 at the 2011 census. Bus services connect the town to Sheffield and Chesterfield. Landmarks include St Peter and St Paul’s Church, parts of which date to 1100, and Renishaw Hall, built in 1625.
